Ukrainian model Maria Kovalchuk has spoken out about her recovery and ongoing trauma after a brutal incident in Dubai that left her with severe injuries.

In a new interview, she described the experience as life-changing and said she has no intention of returning to the country.

A Disappearance That Shocked Many

Kovalchuk’s case first drew widespread attention after she went missing for several days during a trip to Dubai. She was later found injured on a roadside and rushed to hospital.

Reports at the time confirmed she suffered multiple serious injuries, including damage to her spine and legs, requiring extensive medical treatment.

Disputes Over What Happened

Early reports suggested her injuries may have been caused by a fall at a construction site. However, Kovalchuk has strongly denied that version of events.

She now claims she was assaulted after being lured to a hotel room by a group of individuals following travel disruptions.

According to her account, the situation escalated when she refused to drink alcohol, leading to a violent confrontation.

Allegations Against Authorities

Kovalchuk has also raised concerns about how her case was handled after she was hospitalized.

She alleges that:

  • She was admitted under a different identity
  • Her family struggled to locate her
  • Key evidence, including CCTV footage, was not preserved

A Traumatic Recovery

The model recalled losing consciousness after the alleged attack and later waking up in hospital. She described the period as confusing and distressing, with limited communication with family members during the early stages.

Her recovery has involved both physical rehabilitation and emotional healing following the incident.

Kovalchuk has claimed that individuals she identified as attackers were briefly detained and later released. As of now, no confirmed charges or convictions have been publicly reported in connection with the case.

This has added to ongoing questions surrounding accountability and investigation.

Her Message After the Incident

In her latest comments, Kovalchuk described Dubai as a place she no longer feels safe visiting, despite its global image as a luxury destination.

She warned that appearances can be misleading and urged others to be cautious.
