A couple and their 9-year-old son died after falling from a high-rise apartment building in south London in what authorities are investigating as a suspected murder-suicide.
Emergency Services Responded Early Morning
Rakesh Pai, 47, Aditi Paralkar, 46, and their son Sid died after falling from their 36th-floor apartment in the Highpoint tower block in Elephant and Castle on May 27.

Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly after 7:20 a.m. following reports that multiple people had fallen from the building. Despite efforts to save them, all three were pronounced dead at the scene.
Son Reportedly Suffered Serious Illnesses
Local officials said the family had been dealing with severe medical challenges involving their son. Southwark MP Neil Coyle stated that Sid had reportedly been born with serious illnesses, including kidney disease.
According to reports, the family had previously spent years in India seeking medical treatment for the boy before returning to the United Kingdom.
Police Continue Investigation
Police initially described the deaths as “unexpected” and said investigators are keeping an open mind while establishing the exact circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
Authorities also urged the public to avoid speculation while the investigation remains ongoing.
Coroner Opens Inquest
The case has now been referred to the coroner’s office, with an inquest expected to formally determine the causes of death.
The heartbreaking incident has shocked both the local community and those who knew the family.
